WEST BYFLEET CENTRAL SCHOOL

SCHOOL MANAGERS IN QUEUE

The managers of the West Byfleet Central and Junior Schools queued up with the children for lunch when they inspected the new canteen preemies and facilities on Monday.  Over 200 dinners are served daily, and the increase in scholars since the beginning of the war made new arrangements necessary.  A new dining hall has been built, largely with the use of salvage material, and this will seat 120 children.  On Monday, satisfaction was expressed by the managers with the meal served and with the new facilities.  Those present included Mr. A. W. Stollery (chairman of the managers), Mrs. Stollery, the Revs. W. Challenger Wake, C. A. Hamilton, H.J. Taylor, Mrs. Avern, Miss Hetty Cowen and Miss Leslie.  The headmaster (Mr. C.V. Jenkins) presided at lunch.
